Ken Misaki is a Production Designer from Japan who translates his creativity and ideas into beautiful and thought provoking designs. He started off his journey as a theater actor, a stage manager, then a filmmaker, and now as a passionate Production Designer. Through all the experiences, he has found that each expertly informs one another to create his own unique outlook towards the industry.

The role of Production Designer was never a thought until he met one on a film set. The moment he walked into the “character’s office”, he was amazed by the magic that the art department had created in just an empty room!  After that set, Ken began working in the art department and continued carving his path.

From a very young age, Ken has interacted with both Western and Japanese culture which leads him to create a unique and versatile world of production design. “The best moment of being a Production Designer is when the director’s vision comes to life.” Ken is able to create the set that the directors pictured with a level of artistic fluency that is not often seen.
